Happy New Year & Welcome to another BIG year for the Nepean / Blue Mountains Prostate Cancer Support Group.

To the members, (both Male & Female) who signed up at our January Meeting for the Support Groups Information Tent at the Australia Day Gnome Convention at Glenbrook Park this Friday, (26th Jan) THANK YOU.

To the members who were unable to attend the meeting, (trust you enjoyed your holiday), Here is the abbreviated message I gave at the meeting…………………

…………I am really excited about this the events for this year. Can I urge all members to read / or reread the editorials by our President, in the Spring issue of our “Below the Belt” newsletter, & our newsletter Editor in the current issue, (Both can be found in our prostatesupport.org.au website).

Two things I want to draw your attention to now is…….

1, We will be running a Prostate Cancer Awareness stall at the above Australia Day function. I have several folk sign up for the day, but still room for more, (especially from 12 noon to 4 pm or part thereof), We just hand out brochures, nothing complicated, easy onsite training, new Members & Partners especially welcome, come and get to know us.

2. The Cancer Council Penrith Relay for Life is on Saturday 7th, & Sunday 8th April, this could be our tenth year taking part in it, Sadly Eric Kent & I are not able to be there on that particular weekend to lead our team,
We are available to help anyone interested in leading the “Prostate Pals” team, we can go to the info night with you and have all the other stuff you need.
Our group has a very good name with the relay organisers who will be very willing to support you from their end.
Could YOU please think about leading /co-leading the team for this year please, see Eric and / or myself at our February meeting, or contact me at anytime on 4739-2852, or johnkemp4@bigpond.com.au
Also please contact me if you able to come some time this Friday between 7-30 & 8 am to help set up, and / or anytime between 8 am & 4pm, the unofficial agreement is…. please come when you can, & go when you have to!
