Dear Network members,

Due to recent confirmation of the closure of the Impotence Australia organisation, please be aware that they are no longer an available referral point and source of support for men in the Australian community.

Impotence Australia had been listed as one of the organisations that could provide valuable assistance to a man experiencing prostate cancer on several PCFA resources. Whilst resources already printed will still contain the contact details of Impotence Australia, PCFA is working to remove them from future resources. Please remain aware in your interactions with the Australian community that these contact details are now unusable.

If any man is in need of information or support, there are still many valuable referral pathways available to them you might suggest, including:

ü  PCFA Resource – Understanding Sexual Issues Following Prostate Cancer (http://prostate.org.au/awareness/further-detailed-information/understanding-prostate-cancer-treatments-and-side-effects/understanding-sexual-issues-following-prostate-cancer-treatment/)

ü  Beyond Blue – Ph. 1300 224 636, www.beyondblue.org.au

ü  Men’s Line Australia – Ph. 1300 789 978, www.menslineaus.org.au

ü  Lifeline – Ph. 13 11 14

These resources and more are outlined on the final pages of the PCFA information packs and can be of great use for men, even as a starting point to discuss further options with their doctor. Additionally, if you or those in a support group have any questions or concerns, please contact the Network Helpline on 1800 00 22 98 and the Support & Community Outreach Team can discuss with you.

Best wishes to you all,
