Nepean/Blue Mountains Prostate Cancer Support Group –
COVID-19 – Cancellation of Meetings

At its shortened meeting on Monday 16 March 2020 members present decided to cancel meetings for April and May and to review the COVID-19 situation at the end of May to decide whether meetings could recommence in June.

Since then the office of St Stephen’s, in whose Hall we hold our meetings has advised “Due to COVID-19 we have had to cancel all services, gatherings and hall bookings until the end of May. This means that both your April and May meetings will not be able to be held here”. They further advise that that decision will be
reviewed in May “as to whether further bookings will be able to proceed”.

Tonight, I was advised that “The Archbishop and the Anglican Diocese of Sydney have announced that all Parishes in Sydney are to suspend their regular church services and small gatherings indefinitely”.

We have no option now but to wait for further advice from the Archbishop and the Anglican Diocese of Sydney as to when the Hall will be available, and our Board will then review the situation to determine when we will recommence meetings.

Our only connection with St Stephens is that we rent their Hall for our Group meetings.

In the meantime, should you have questions or would like to speak with a member of the Group please call 1300 13 38 78. Our website – www.prostatesupport.org.au – and Facebook will be updated as necessary.

In the meantime, stay safe and COVID-19 free and we look forward to resuming Support Group meetings as soon as we can.
